Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro
5th Generation
Produced for the 2010 through 2024 model years, the fifth-generation Toyota 4Runner became a favorite among outdoor enthusiasts, off-road drivers, and people who simply wanted a dependable SUV built to last. While many modern SUVs transitioned to car-based platforms, the 4Runner retained its rugged body-on-frame construction, solid rear axle, available four-wheel drive, and proven 4.0-liter V6 engine.
People love the fifth generation because it feels durable, capable, and refreshingly straightforward. Its boxy styling, high ground clearance, spacious cargo area, roll-down rear window, and impressive trail capability give it a distinctive personality that newer, more refined SUVs often lack. Off-road trims such as the TRD Off-Road and TRD Pro added features including Crawl Control, Multi-Terrain Select, a locking rear differential, skid plates, and specialized suspension components.
Although its technology and fuel economy may seem dated by modern standards, that simplicity is part of its appeal. The fifth-generation 4Runner earned a loyal following because it remained true to what the 4Runner had always been: a tough, practical, adventure-ready vehicle designed for exploring trails, traveling through difficult weather, hauling outdoor equipment, and creating memories far beyond the pavement.
