Chimney Rock in Capitol Reef National Park is a tall sandstone spire formed from Entrada Sandstone during the Jurassic period, around 160–180 million years ago. Shaped by erosion, it stands as a remnant of larger rock layers within the Waterpocket Fold, a major geological feature of the park. Located at about 6,400 feet in elevation.
